Track "Monte Carlo" in the eponymous capital of the Principality of Monaco hosts competitions for the Grand Prix from the distant 1929. This is the slowest, while the most popular track on the F1 calendar. The race is held on the streets of the city and it always present some of the most famous stars of show business. Performance of pilots in Monaco depends mostly on their skills and their capacity to master the power of the car. Usually the first position in the qualification is a prerequisite for success, as overtaking is almost impossible due to the narrow streets of the Principality. Track in Monte Carlo is one of the few tracks that is almost never changed. Drivers change gears 40 times per lap (any speed every 2 seconds), totaling about 3,000 changes for the race. Tactics teams usually one stop and an important factor explaining their grip cars. The streets of Monte Carlo are part of the road network of the city are extremely dirty. This creates additional hassles for all Formula 1. Commentary Bernd Meylender (Official pilot safety car): The track in Monte Carlo is probably the one that requires most of the pilots and machines. Almost no places for overtaking on the narrow streets. Safety standards are very high compared to previous years. Shikanan after "Pool" is very dangerous because there is no visibility.
