Winnie-the-Pooh: The Most Famous Bear in the World Alan Titchmarsh celebrates the 90th anniversary of the creation of the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, which were originally written by AA Milne for his only child Christopher Robin, who featured as a character in the tales. On their first appearance, Milne's stories and poems featuring Pooh Bear became a publishing sensation, and Alan heads to Cotchford Farm in Sussex, where Milne created Pooh, to find out why they were capable of capturing the imaginations of millions. He also takes in the wild woodland that formed the basis for the Hundred Acre Wood, and visits Harrods toy department, where Milne first bought the toys that would later become the inspiration behind the likes of Pooh himself, along with his friends Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo. Includes interviews with Milne's biographer Ann Thwaite, social historian Hester Barron, journalist Matthew Sweet, and children's author Brian Sibley
