The true story of how Canada built and destroyed the world's most advanced fighter plane back in the 1950s. The Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow was a delta-winged interceptor aircraft designed and built by Avro Canada. The CF-105 held the promise of Mach 2 speeds at altitudes exceeding 50,000 feet (15,000 m) and was intended to serve as the Royal Canadian Air Force's (RCAF) primary interceptor into the 1960s and beyond. Mysteriously, the program was abruptly shut down by the Canadian government just before the advanced Orenda engines could be fitted to the 6th aircraft in the series. The production and subsequent destruction of the Arrow has been the source of great controversy for over 60 years. Many of the the Avro engineers went on to spearhead the Apollo program after the Arrow's termination forced the grisly demise of Avro Aircraft. In 1997 the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) aired a two-part television miniseries docu-drama about this fascinating legend. This is the full DVD published by CBC, containing many worthwhile special feature interviews and documentaries in addition to the core presentation. A must-see for aviation fans, it is the universally compelling story of how Canada chickened out of becoming the foremost aviation technology country on the planet. It has been compacted to DVD5 format by DVD Shrink software, imaged to .ISO, and them compacted further to a .ZIP file for quicker download. Well worth the cost of plastic to have in your permanent DVD collection. Enjoy
