http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082507/ and English closed captions He, he, he... A film that exemplifies the fact that stars don't necessarily make the film. This trainwreck of a film shows how some powers-that-be can take an actor's strong points and throw them in the trash compactor. Andy was skilled at using body language and delivery to promote his twisted message. Both of those skills were checked at the door to present us with this abomination. The Story: Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters play robots exchanging some ambiguous human experience and try to better themselves. Their robot costumes left me in doubt as to whether the actors were indeed present during the making of this film. Was it dubbed in afterwards? Was it dubbed by the names on the Marquee? Their speech suggested to my imagination the artificial intelligence expected by the pea sized microchip in a pedestrian crossing signal. Their movements reminded me of Mom's Electrolux. There was a garbage can shaped Rodney Dangerfield styled robot who kept spouting Catskill one-liners (his name was Catskill). This film has no...NO redeeming qualities! Christopher Guest and Randy Quaid make appearances, as well as Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov. If you take the plunge on this one, please remember to seed properly so you can take part in inflicting it on innocents the world over. Uncompressed Anamorphic Widescreen NTSC VIDEO_TS files
