In December 1963, The Scarecrow premiered in UK movie theaters. This film cut is called 'Dr. Syn, Alias The Scarecrow'. Then, in February 1964, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color broadcast an expanded version of Dr. Syn in a U.S. 3-part TV mini-series titled 'The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh'.
 
Dr. Christopher Syn is a former pirate, but now a British preaching Vicar seeking redemption. As a pirate he was rather infamously known as Captain Clegg. At night he fights injustice as a vigilante known as the Scarecrow. He was played by Patrick McGoohan.
