https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307922/ Running in excess of three hours, the epic documentary Ganges explores the history, geography and social impact of the titular body of water, one that continues to serve a central role in the lives of Indian men and women. The program begins at the river's source - amid the icy, snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas - and follows it down through Indian countryside inhabited by an abundance of indigenous wildlife, from elephants to tigers to peacocks. It then moves into the ancient and hallowed city of Varanasi, before finally moving into the Ganges delta, where the river flows into the sea and the land itself witnesses the union between Indian cities such as Calcutta and the Sunderbans swamps
