Scotland's Canals S01E03 (in Scottish Gaelic with Eng subtitles) Niall Iain Macdonald and Calum Macaulay take to the water as they explore the Forth and Clyde Canal. They take the tiller of their own barge, the Lochan Ora, and navigate their way across central Scotland. Niall Iain meets Ruaridh Graham of Historic Scotland to learn about the Antonine Wall - built by the Romans 2,000 years ago, it sits alongside much of the canal. Calum is more interested in how they keep the canals free of debris, and joins a dredger for the day. At Maryhill they are assisted by volunteer lock keepers as they ascend Neptune's Steps, where Red Bull hosts an annual endurance race. Finally, the boys decide to have a go at wakeboarding on the canal, which they discover is not as easy as it looks. Tha Niall Iain Domhnallach agus Calum MacAmhlaigh air an uisge 's iad a' siubhail air a' Chanàl Foirthe agus Cluaidh. Tha iad fhèin a' faighinn grèim air an stiùir air a' bhàirdse aca fhèin, an Lochan Ora, agus tha iad a' dèanamh thar meadhan na h-Alba. Tha Niall Iain a' coinneachadh ri Ruaridh Greumach bho Air a Chanal Àrainneachd Eachdraidh Alba gus ionnsachadh mu shlighe nas sine thar na dùthcha - Balla Antonine. Chaidh a thogail leis na Ròmanaich bho chionn 2000 bliadhna, agus tha e ri taobh pàirtean mòra dhen chanàil. Tha barrachd ùidh aig Calum ann a bhith a' cur eòlas air mar a bhithear a' cumail a' chanàl glan bho sgudal, agus tha e a' dol air bàta dreideireachd airson an latha. Tha na balaich a' lorg a h-uile seòrsa rud anns a' chanàl, ciste-thasgaidh fiù! Aig Cnoc Moire tha iad a' faighinn taic bho luchd-obrach saor-thoileach gus Ceuman Neptune a dhìreadh - far am bi Red Bull a' cur air dòigh rèis cian-fhulaing gach bliadhna! As deidh dhaibh sin fhaicinn, tha iad a' feuchainn air bordadh a' mharbh-srutha - chan eil e cho furasta 'sa bha iad an dùil. First broadcast: 22 June 2017 Duration: 1 hour
