Introduction to Network Operations

Introduction

Welcome to Pluralsight. I'm Ross Bagurdes. This is Network Operations for the CompTIA Network+ exam. This is the newer exam, the N10-006 exam that came out in February or March of 2015. This video is introducing network operations. We're going to take a look at all the pieces of network operations so that we can go take a deeper dive into those in future videos in this series. Alright, let's just dive right into this. Network Operations here is part of a six-course learning path. The six-course learning path is specifically designed to prepare you for the CompTIA Network+ exam, this is the N10-006 exam. And these six videos that we have are Introduction to CompTIA Network+, we have Network Architecture, and my friend Tim Warner is the author of our Network Architecture video. I highly recommend you take a look at that video series before you watch this one, which is Network Operations. Tim is going to introduce you to a lot of the fundamental concepts and fundamental language that we use in Network Operations, and then I'm going to take that a little bit further and explain a lot more detail of each of those pieces. After this, Tim jumps back in and he dives into Network Security. After that you'll come back to me. We'll take a look at Troubleshooting for the CompTIA Network+ exam, and then Tim is going to wrap this up with Standards, Practices, and Theory. So let's take a look at what we're going to cover in this video. First of all I want to talk about acronym overload. Alright, if you are not going holy mackerel, what is Ross and Tim trying to tell me, there is so much language and so many acronyms to remember, how am I ever going to learn this? I want to start off by talking about managing this chaos of new language in your mind. Then I want an overview of network operations. I want to take a look at basically what is Network Operations. We're going to take a look at the equipment that we use in Network Operations and then examine some of the operating systems we use
