This ballad of culpability and punishment returns to the collectivization of the Czech countryside in the 1950s. A woman returns to her native village to bury her “kulak” husband. The couple had been expelled from their home years before; despite the long absence, her homecoming is not without problems. Old injustices and culpabilities, which have left their mark on many, rise to the surface. Despite the difficulties, the woman stubbornly insists on the right to hold a funeral. Her husband’s memorial service becomes a symbol of the villagers’ opposition to the Communist regime. Zdenìk Sirový made this acrimonious drama, reminiscent of a classical tragedy, based on Eva Kantùrková’s novel of the same name. The movie made its way straight to the vault for “attacking Czechoslovak Communist Party policies during collectivization.” Rip Specs (DVD Rip) General : Smutecni Slavnost.1969.DVDRip.x264.mkv Format : Matroska at 2 452 Kbps Length : 1.15 GiB for 1h 7mn 22s 614ms Video #0 : AVC at 2 222 Kbps Aspect : 716 x 576 (1.325) at 25.000 fps Audio #0 : AC-3 at 224 Kbps Infos : 2 channels, 48.0 KHz Language : cs Text #0 : VobSub Language : en Text #1 : VobSub Language : cs http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065004/ Audio Language: Czech Subtitles: English, Czech
