Modestly appointed Henry Madison (Robert Conness) finds himself in love
with a fallen woman, who chooses to leave him to save his promising future.
She births his baby but soon dies, leaving the child to be raised by the
impoverished neighborhood.
Seventeen years later, Henry has become a rich and calloused capitalist,
while his long-lost daughter is on her mother's path to ruin.

Children of Eve is notable for its dramatic restaging of the real-life
events of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire, which killed 146
workers.
